G’day Students & Parents,
I grew up in Wodonga, Australia, about 3 hours drive northeast from Melbourne. I have a wife, Sidney, and 2 children, Lucy and Callum. I played Basketball, Cricket, and Australian Rules Football during my youth and early adulthood. I now enjoy going for bike rides, for both relaxation and exercise.
This will be my 19th year of teaching: 4 in Australia (Grades 1-2 and 5-6), 2 in England (Grades 5 & 6), and 14 in the USA (Grades 5 & 6). I've enjoyed teaching in each of these countries, and it has allowed me to travel and see places I possibly never would have.
This year I will be teaching 6th Grade Science. I enjoy getting hands on with Science, challenging students to make connections with “school” knowledge and ‘real-life” knowledge, and how it relates to them and the larger world. I really enjoy students curiosity and questions about scientific 'things' and encourage them to ask these and to find out and tell me more.
I look forward to an enjoyable and productive year with you and your child. Lets’ have a great school year, learning all that we can about the Sciences of the World.
